Meet: Cathy from Poor Little It Girl

A year and a half ago I met Atlanta boutique owner Morgan Cohen when I wrote a story on her for my local magazine gig. For the past few months, I’ve been taking my tips and tricks I've learned along the way in the blogging world through my site, Poor Little It Girl, and began to collaborate with her on her store blog. Our mission was to give her customers, and those that have yet to shop her store, a better understanding of who Morgan is and what her store is all about. I'm making the move to Washington D.C. next week so my reign as her Social Media Manager is coming to an end, with this being my last post for this website. Morgan has become a dear friend and I'm going to miss her and her store so much! To send me off in style (pun intended) I decided to play dress up with some of my favorite pieces in her store, all available now! Till next time, Atlanta! xo Cathy

Style Setter: Miroslava Duma

{Photos c/o The Coveteur and Fabulous Miroslava Duma Tumblr}
She’s a former editor at Harper’s Bazaar Russia, current fashion consultant and founder of Buro 24/7, but Miroslava Duma’s most coveted role is style setter. While petite in stature, this mogul packs a big fashion punch with her eclectic, unconventional, but always feminine style. My girl-crush on Mira (that’s what her friends call her, so I think I’m going to/am allowed to do the same) continues to grow every time she’s photographed taking vintage, couture and basic wardrobe staples and pairing them with her signature statement accessories to create looks that are effortlessly chic.

It's easy to get Duma's eclectic and refined style here at Morgan Kylee. Start with this Samantha Sung "Audrey" printed dress (coming soon, $525). Leave it unbuttoned all the way down, add a tank underneath and roll up the sleeves. Grab a pair of MiH's "Ellsworth" skinny jeans (available now, $209) and roll the bottoms till they're a little bit above the ankle, sort of a boyfriend length. Throw on these Robert Clergerie "Dylan" wedges (available now, $525) and wrap the B-Low belt (coming soon, $196) around your waist and up high like Duma.

How To: Transition Winter Favorites into Spring Style

When it comes to winter style, it’s safe to say most of us have our favorite jeans and comfiest sweaters on heavy rotation. But once springtime weather starts to come (like it is now in January with seventy degree temperatures…crazy!) it’s easy to take our beloved cold weather staples and transition them into the coming warmer months. Check out how I take my favorite pieces, still available now at Morgan Kylee., and bring them through the change in seasons!

Transition: Jeans
Rick Owens Gray "Detroit" Jeans, $400 (now 50% off)

Winter Look - Boots and an oversized coat are the best way to stay warm during the cold season. The gray jeans keep the look monochromatic and chic. Coat: Rick Owens, $1500 | Boots: Robert Clergerie, $875 | Sweater Vest: Gentry Portofino, $375 - all available at Morgan Kylee.

Spring Look - Cuff your jeans and wear open toe wedges for a casual look. If it's still a bit breezy out, add a bold scarf over your favorite T-shirt. Scarf: Bajra, $380 | Wedges: Robert Clergerie, $595 | T-Shirt: Brian Lichtenberg, $61 - all available at Morgan Kylee.

Transition: Sweater
Dear Cashmere Sweater, $575 (now 50% off)

Winter Look - White boots make a huge statement in the winter months, so keep your look simple with basic black and the pop of a bold sweater and beaded necklace. Leggings: Skin, $130 | Tank: Rick Owens, $315 | Boots: Newbark, $1400 | Necklace: Janet Mozley for MK, $300 - all available at Morgan Kylee.

Spring Look - Vintage cut off shorts and wedges make a huge style statement for spring! The oversized cardigan over a printed silk blouse is the perfect combination of casual sexy style. Wedges: Robert Clergerie, $575 | Blouse: Piamita, $276  - all available at Morgan Kylee.
